A partnership between the CEM program and WisDOT
The CMSC formed as a partnership between UW-Madison and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to fill a need for collaborative problem solving and implementation in construction engineering and management.
We help local, state, and federal agencies find timely solutions to project development problems, study construction and materials issues and provide tools to help implement new and relevant technologies.
Our Team
Professor Awad Hanna is the Center Director. He is responsible for overseeing operations of the Center, reviewing research project results and conclusions, and Co-Chairs the CMSC Steering Committee.
Gary Whited is CMSC’s Program Manager. His role is to develop research initiatives, provide technical guidance and oversite of research projects, prepare technical reports and papers on research results and liaison with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation on research needs.
Steven Krebs is CMSC’s Program Director. His role is management of the Center’s budget and operations. He also assists as a liaison to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and to provide technical guidance and oversite of research projects, develop and write technical papers.
The CMSC works with students on research projects for the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
